One of my favorite evening gown
designers is Sherri Hill; she makes gorgeous and luxurious dresses perfect for
every occasion. Recently, the 2015 spring collection was debuted and I have
fallen in love with every dress. Sherri Hill took a different route this year for
their new spring line than most evening gown designers. I’ve noticed 3 key
things that really stood out to me: polka dots, floral, and leopard.
In the 2015 spring line, you can
easily see a wide variety of polka dot dresses. I know what you’re already
thinking, polka dots?! Really?! But I absolutely love it. These dresses are
quirky and cute, which separates it from the usual sexy, flashy dresses that
everyone wears. One of my favorite polka dot numbers is the one with the white
t-shirt crop top made of pearls with the turquoise polka dot circle skirt. I
think this dress would be so cute for a Homecoming dance or just a fancy occasion.
The black and white polka dot crop top with the hot pink skirt would be absolutely
gorgeous for prom; it’s almost like a modern 60’s outfit.
The next trend I saw was floral
print. Now I’m not a huge fan of floral print on long gowns, but Sherri Hill
defiantly made it work. The floral print scheme was the perfect way to announce
their 2015 spring line, and the dresses they created were sophisticated, but
also girly. My favorite floral dress was the turquoise cocktail number with a
pink floral design. This would be the perfect summer dress, it’s not only
bright and festive, but the material is made so it can look classy and
sophisticated. You’ll look like your going to brunch in the upper east side of
Manhattan. I also loved their floral ball gowns; they’re absolute showstoppers.
You usually think of ball gowns as a solid color like white or red, but Sherri
Hill placed a floral design on their big ball gowns. I have to say, I love it!
It’s so unique and different from any other dress I’ve seen.
The last trend I saw was leopard print.
This print created an edgier, punk side to the Sherri Hill spring line. You see
many of the polka dot and floral print dresses, but only in leopard print. This
was also a huge shock for me to see because when you put leopard print and a evening
gown together, it usually spells out for disaster. But I actually like a lot of
the evening gowns that have the leopard print in them.
Of course, the line also has other evening gowns that are
not in these 3 prints that are stunning, but those 3 trends I saw was something
I never seen in a sophisticated, luxurious evening gown designer before. This
new spring line may or may not change evening gowns forever!
